INTERCEPT

This course provides comprehensive training on the effective interception of narcotics and other criminal activities using nontraditional interdiction methods. Topics range from consensual encounters with the traveling public to identifying narcotics being shipped through parcel services. Consensual Encounters: In this section, law enforcement officers of all backgrounds will develop the knowledge and confidence to conduct lawful and effective consensual encounters. The course includes the review of real-life body camera footage to provide practical insights. Officers will learn to recognize deceptive behaviors and will be guided through the legal aspects of conducting these encounters within constitutional boundaries. Parcel Interdiction: This portion of the class is dedicated to the identification and interception of illegal substances and contraband shipped through commercial parcel services such as FedEx and UPS. Officers will gain critical skills in recognizing suspicious packaging, identifying fraudulent shipping labels, and conducting controlled deliveries. Legal aspects of search and seizure pertaining to parcel shipments will be thoroughly discussed. The course also includes analysis of case studies and real-life examples, enabling officers to understand common smuggling tactics and the latest trends in parcel trafficking
